It felt weird turning up to the dark, locked building. It still baffled him that his father didn’t feel the need to maintain even a skeleton crew to watch the wall. He sighed in relief when his chip scan allowed him access to the building. He bounded into the large entry floor and, turning right, made a beeline for the stairs. He raced up them and burst through the door onto the floor of the surveillance cameras. Pausing, he took a deep breath. Ah, the sweet smell of stale sweat, polished metal, and warm silicon. He sauntered across the room enjoying the nostalgia of visiting a place that was as much home to him as his own apartment.

He stopped when he reached his old computer and palmed it on before sitting down. The screen flashed, revealing a red flashing light.
